Microblading

What Is Microblading?

Microblading is a popular semi-permanent eyebrow treatment designed to create natural-looking hair strokes within the brows. The technique involves using a specialised handheld tool with very fine needles to implant pigment just beneath the surface of the skin.

During the treatment, delicate hair-like strokes are carefully created to mimic the appearance of natural eyebrow hairs. This helps fill in sparse areas, improve the shape of the brows and create a fuller, more defined look while still maintaining a natural appearance.

Microblading has become extremely popular in recent years and the results are often seen across social media. However, although it is a trending treatment, it is important to understand that microblading is not always the best option for everyone.

Who Is Microblading Suitable For?

Microblading works best on clients with strong, stable skin types. Those with normal to dry skin often experience the most defined healed results because the hair strokes can remain crisp within the skin.

However, microblading may not be suitable for everyone. Clients with very oily skin, enlarged pores, sun-damaged skin or smokers’ skin may find that the hair strokes blur slightly or fade more quickly during the healing process.

During your consultation at Beautyfull Brows in Motherwell, your skin type will be assessed carefully to determine whether microblading is the most suitable treatment or whether another brow technique may provide better results

How Long Does Microblading Last?

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo designed to gradually fade over time. Most microblading results last between one and two years depending on a range of factors including skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, medications and how well the aftercare instructions are followed.

Over time the pigment will naturally fade, and many clients choose to book colour refresh appointments to maintain the shape and definition of their brows.

Alternative Brow Treatments

If microblading is not the most suitable option for your skin type, there are other semi-permanent brow techniques available that can provide beautiful, long-lasting results.

Powder brows or ombré brows create a soft shaded effect similar to the appearance of brow makeup and are often a better option for clients with oily or mature skin types.

It is also possible to combine techniques to create a Combination Brow, which blends microbladed hair strokes with soft shading to achieve the best of both styles.

If you begin with microblading, you can also transition to a powder brow or ombré brow treatment later if desired.
